MENOPAUSE the musical

May 23 - June 9, 2007

Special Pre-Season Encore Presentation!
A raucous celebration of women who are on the brink of, in the middle of, or have survived The Change. This joyful musical parody details the meeting of four women — billed as Power Woman, Soap Star, Earth Mother, Iowa Housewife — at a lingerie sale in Bloomingdale's "fighting over a black lace bra, with nothing in common but memory loss, hot flashes, night sweats, chocolate binges, wrinkles, plastic surgery, hormones, not enough sex, too much sex, and much, much more.”

Inspired by a hot flash and a bottle of wine, writer/producer Jeanie Linders created the show as a celebration of women and The Change. Since its first performance, the show has evolved as a “grassroots” movement of women who deal with life after 40 and all the challenges that result in the mental, physical and spiritual freedom of over 38 million post WWII baby boomer females.

Last season’s production of Menopause The Musical was held over four times and was the highest grossing, most attended show in the history of the Playhouse. “It took off, it broke new ground for this theatre and did numbers that had never been done before”, says Brad Kenney, Executive Artistic Director. Audience members are coming back to see the power of this production a second and even third time. With last year’s fabulous cast returning, you don’t want to miss this special opportunity to laugh out loud and feel the power of this hilarious production!
