  • DMITRY CHAPLIN Chaplin has established himself as one of the most recognized ballroom dancers and choreographers in the United States and around the world. He’s performed as one of the star professionals on “Dancing with the Stars”, received an EMMY nomination for his choreography of an Argentine Tango on “So You Think You Can Dance” and is one of America’s favorite dancers. Chaplin’s ballroom dancing career began at the age of 12 in his hometown of Rostov-on-Don in Russia. He moved to the United States in 1999, where, after studying both in America and the United Kingdom, he began representing the United States at many world famous ballroom competitions. Chaplin won many of those competitions, became a national finalist in 2006, and ultimately a semi-finalist and finalist in various international competitions around the world. In 2006, Chaplin’s dance career took a different course, when he won a spot on the hit TV show “So You Think You Can Dance” and became one of America’s Top 10 dancers. As a result of his popularity on “So You Think You Can Dance”, Chaplin frequented as a guest performer on “American Idol” and was invited as a ‘special guest’ to dance with Gloria Estefan on the phenomenal and EMMY winning episode “Idol Gives Back.” Chaplin has also had special guest appearances on “The Ellen Degeneres Show”, “Jimmy Kimmel Live”, “Good Morning America”, “Live with Regis and Kelly”, “Larry King Live”, KTLA News, “The View” and many more. She began her dancing life at the age of six in her native Russia. Her parents owned a dance studio, so it was only natural that she took to dancing at an early age. At age seven, Anna entered her first dance competition, which she won, and she has been winning titles (both amateur and professional) ever since. She moved to the United States (with her parents) at age 17. Her parents were dancers and her mother, Irina, still makes her costumes today. They run You Can Dance ballroom studio in Hermosa Beach, California. Anna’s first U.S. title was the 1997 Amateur Standard Youth Championship. GINA GLOCKSEN is best known as the ninth place finalist of the sixth season of the mega-hit television show American Idol. Although Gina was often referred to as the ‘rocker chick’, her musical influences and abilities range far beyond the realm of rock. Gina’s original music infuses the passion and attitude of a rock ’n’ roll rebel with the precision and soul of the modern ‘diva.’ Since her time on American Idol, Gina has toured North America on the American Idols Live Tour and continues to perform around the country showcasing her original music. Gina recently rocked the stadiums by opening for both Bret Michaels and the band Heart. While on the show, Gina’s genuine candor and charming wit made her a favorite of millions and it has helped her to continue her career in entertainment as a co-host on the FOX Reality show American Idol Extra. In addition to working in television Gina continues to write and record original music with the help of many great musicians including Samantha Maloney (former drummer of Hole and Mötley Crüe) and Geoff Repo (son of legendary rock producer Bob Ezrin), to name a few. Gina’s captivating personality and edgy style have helped the world to see that this girl is a talent that cannot be ignored.

VON SMITH was most recently seen on Nigel Lythgoe’s new TV show Opening Act, where he was chosen by Lady Gaga to be her opening act on her tour in Australia. First introduced to the world when his version of “And I Am Telling You (I’m Not Going)” from Dreamgirls became a sensation on YouTube, Von has garnered a legion of fans and has performed on some of the most celebrated stages in the U.S. including ABC’s The View (by personal invitation of Rosie O’Donnell), BET’s 106th and Park, MTV News, VH1’s Best Week Ever, E! Entertainment’s The Soup, TV Azteca’s La Academia and perhaps the biggest stage: American Idol Season 8 as one of the top 17 finalists. When he’s not rocking out on national stages across the country with fellow idol buddies, or performing in front of symphonies conducted by the likes of the late Marvin Hamlisch, Von has been seen around the Los Angeles area in several Upright Cabaret productions, as well as leading roles in an LA-based series of shows called For The Record, paying tribute to the soundtrack songs and iconic moments from films by noted directors such as Quentin Tarantino, John Hughes, Baz Luhrmann, Paul Thomas Anderson, and most recently, Martin Scorsese. She earned first place in the Dutch Open from 2005 to 2006 and won the 2010 World Masters. At the age of 18, she took her pursuits to the U.S. where she took second place in the National Amateur Championships, which led to the honor of representing the U.S. in the World Championships in Australia. With ballet as her foundation, she later developed a love for ballroom, has managed to reach the top 24 in the IDSF World Open Ballroom Competition and recently won the first segment of Ballroom Battle on the hit show Dancing with the Stars. Her unique facility mixed with her hard work ethic and professionalism has steered her from the competition world to the performance aspect of her artistry. The dance that was inspired by Randi’s backside has lived on in SYTYCD history and was recently re-created on Season 9. It inspired Judge Nigel Lythgoe to claim that he still thinks about Randi’s rear. Although this is certainly an honor, Randi is much more than her bottom; she is a multidisciplinary dancer and a top, in-demand choreographer.
